•	Chicago's Roy Patterson bested A's starter [[Bill Bernhard]] in the first game, 2-0

•	Former A's pitcher [[Wiley Piatt]] faced his old team in the second, but the A's scored four runs in the ninth to take the lead and held off a Chicago rally in the bottom half to win, 10-9

•	The //Inquirer// reported that [[Connie Mack]] had signed two players, former Chicago National League catcher Tim Donahue and a semi-pro infielder named Arthur Bourgeois, though neither signing was enthusiastically corroborated by other sources
