Chick Fraser pitched a four-hitter in game one and the A's took it easily, 9-0

⦁ Boston scored a pair of runs in each of the third and fifth innings and that was enough to win, 4-2

Injury Updates

⦁ In the sixth inning of the second game, Boston starter George Winter pitched one high and tight to his counterpart, Eddie Plank, beaning him

⦁ Plank went down immediately, and though he never lost consciousness, it took him a while to get to his feet and leave the field

Chick Fraser came in to pinch-run, then Bill Bernhard finished the game in Plank's stead
