The team's pursuit of the playing site at 26th and Jefferson was delayed again by the city council as officials bickered over whether the team's lease offer of $1,000 per year was too low. There was also a complaint from a citizen that a baseball team on the premises would hurt property values in the area. Representing the team at the council meeting was Samuel Jones and reporter and shareholder Frank Hough.
